Michael, the eldest son of Bill and Marion Sharpe, grew up on the current family farm north of Guelph and became active in the business as it grew in the late 1980's and early 1990's while finishing high school. After graduating from the University of Guelph in 1996 with Honors in Agronomy, he returned to the family business where he currently looks after organizing the custom work as well as their own land. He has continued to maintain his status of learning by becoming a Certified Crop Advisor in 1999. He specializes in field crop management and general knowledge of seeds, nutrients and chemistry. Now living in Guelph, Leigh Hudson was raised in the Ottawa valley in Kinburn, Ontario on a 200 sow farrow-to-finish hog and 1000 acre cash crop operation. Growing up, she gained experience with crop production and customer relations through the fresh produce business her family has operated for over 30 years. She has also learned a lot about the cash crop and dairy industries through her extensive involvement in 4H. She recently graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in spring 2011. Prior to joining Sharpes Farm Supplies, Leigh acquired considerable experience in the crop science field. In 2008 and 2009, she worked for P.T. Sullivan Agro Inc. as an Agronomist Assistant, where she gained valuable experience in pest identification and crop management practices. In 2010 and 2011, she worked as a Research Associate for Bayer Cropscience; where she was employed in the testing of various herbicides, fungicides and seed treatments. Throughout her university career, she was highly involved in the OAC student government and with the OAC Weeds team. In 2011, she participated as one of the top individuals on the OAC Weeds team that travelled to Knoxville, Tennessee to compete against all of the United States. Leigh has gained knowledge of a variety of chemical products, weed knowledge and identification as well as problem solving tools that can be applied to real life situations. John Sharpe has been a familiar face around Sharpe Farm Supplies for some time now, whether it is driving a truck, sprayer or working around the Guelph yard. John is the youngest of the three brothers. John and his wife Laura live just outside of Rockwood, where they raise beef cattle. He graduated from the University of Guelph in 2002 with a Diploma in Agriculture. Up until 2008 John has been driving tractor trailer for Sharpe's. In the fall of 2008 he changed his focus within the company and now specializes in the seed and agronomy portion.
