As an aid in the treatment/prevention of dehydration, acidosis and electrolyte imbalance in calves with diarrhea.
The solution does not interfere with milk digestion and can be given to suckling and milk fed calves.
Milk deprivation is unnecessary if the calf is willing to drink. Calves that refuse milk should be given electrolytes only. As they recover, re-introduce milk and decrease gradually the amount of electrolyte solution. If no improvement is seen within 2 or 3 days consult your veterinarian.
Do not use in cases of upper gastrointestinal obstruction or severely sick animals where parenteral (or alternate) therapy is indicated.
Directions for Use:
- Dissolve contents of one pouch (184 g) of V-LYTES HE in 2 L of warm water and administer the entire amount by a nursing bottle or stomach tube. Administer twice daily as necessary until symptoms disappear.
